Called Active Form, this system employs the technology it uses
a laser beam projected onto the edge of the bent sheet metal and a camera
with high resolution that detects the reflected points, sends them to the CNC which takes them
converts to angles. The measurement takes place both at the leading edge and at the top
the rear one of the bent sheet metal, to guarantee maximum precision.
Designed and developed by the STR team in the research and development offices at
the headquarters of Albano S. A. (BG), this system aims to change a
well-established paradigm in the folding process, according to which the
the search for maximum precision inevitably leads to a reduction
of the cycle speed. With Active Form the two laser/camera groups are
motorized and the system on which they are mounted (also designed with an area
of external parking to maximize the useful folding length) can
achieve an extremely high translation speed. This means
that cycle times can be reduced to a minimum, even during
measuring angles on long pieces and when measuring the angle
it is carried out at several points during the same fold.
It is important to underline that precision can be obtained from the first fold
is within a tolerance of 0.3 degrees. Furthermore, the system is integrated with the system
mechanical compensation that carries out corrections in real time,
guaranteeing maximum precision and uniformity of the angle independently
by the nature and quality of the folded material. In summary, Active Form
aims to ensure maximum process speed to achieve maximum
precision of the angle along the entire bending length, in total safety
(thanks to the immediate stopping system in the event of a collision) for the operator
and the car. The system can be single or double.
